Beginnings - Artist facts
Growing up in South West London, my passion for drawing was boundless. Whether I was sketching my family, local parks, or the bustle of everyday life, my sketchbook was my constant companion. As a student, my creative journey took a defining turn—my daily commute became a canvas of fleeting moments. I captured the essence of commuters and city life through quick sketches, and it was during these studies that my fascination with architecture began. Buildings, with their grandeur and stillness, became the perfect subjects for my evolving artistic voice.
Artistic Development
London’s vibrant streets, especially iconic spots like Waterloo Bridge and the South Bank, became my open-air studio. I sketched everything—from towering cityscapes to candid moments of passersby—often weaving fragments of overheard conversations into my work. My style evolved from pencil sketches to a mixed-media approach, incorporating watercolour, ink, and even unconventional materials like coffee, all of which added layers of texture and depth to my pieces.
Over time, my work began to take on a more interpretive, artistic edge. While I respected architectural precision, I sought to capture the soul of the city—the unseen rhythms, the contrast of light and shadow, the human stories intertwined with the structures. My art became a study of urban camouflage, exploring the tension between the raw and refined, the chaotic and the composed.
Today, my style is a hybrid of influences, constantly evolving and defying strict categorisation. My works, whether inspired by the dense energy of a metropolis or the quiet charm of rural towns, continue to resonate with a growing audience. My journey mirrors that of the cities I love—always in motion, always reinventing.
Brand Ambassador
A major milestone in my career was becoming a proud ambassador for Derwent, one of the world’s leading art brands. This partnership has been deeply meaningful to me, as Derwent’s quality and innovative products have been instrumental in my artistic process for years. From their premium pencils to their vibrant inks and pastels, Derwent’s materials have helped me push the boundaries of my creative expression.
As an ambassador, I’m honoured to represent a brand that shares my commitment to artistry, craftsmanship, and inspiring the next generation of creators. I regularly work with Derwent to showcase how versatile their products can be, from traditional pencil sketching to the bold, mixed-media techniques that define my signature style.
